There are a tremendous number of activities initiated by CHIEF members! Days-at-the-park, musical and theatrical performances, multiple educational co-ops, specialized classes, tours of local sites, short term sports camps, music lessons, curriculum sales…

If you can dream it up and organize it, other members of CHIEF are going to want to know about it! When activities are planned, the most common way to promote them is through our members-only email list.

Here’s a few examples of some of our ongoing educational opportunities:

Koinonia Co-op

The primary aim of the Koinonia co-op is to allow formation of deep Christian fellowship and friendship as we all learn and grow together. This aim is reflected in the co-op’s name.

One of the great attributes of Koinonia is its structuring for families. The framework has classes for Nursery, Preschool, Kindergarten & 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 4th – 6th , Middle School and High School. Each age group is offered a Science hour, an Arts hour (Language Arts and Performing Arts) and an Elective.

The science class is year-long, while the Arts and Elective classes are divided into two semesters, allowing several different subjects to be taken.  We have an hour lunch break built into the Co-Op which gives ample time for fellowship for the students and mothers.

Koinonia Co-op meets weekly and is structured to offer a 12-week Fall semester and a 12-week Winter/Spring semester. We begin each meeting with a group assembly time at 8:40 a.m. and end our day of learning together at 1:10 p.m.

Applications for enrollment are accepted all year long and CHIEF membership is required.

Classical Conversations Co-op

Classical Conversations is so much more than a homeschooling program. Everything centers around community. Working with like-minded families, parents are supported as they learn alongside their children. Whether studying math, science, English, or just how to think critically, you will find yourself redeeming your own education as you are equipped with resources and training to teach your children not what to learn, but how to learn. With engaging, hands-on learning opportunities for all ages, students broaden their minds and develop a Christian worldview with every passing year.
